Greatist’s Workout of the Day

Greatist Workout of the Day

I’ve been trying to get in shape, lose weight, tone up, all of that stuff you tell yourself when you start a new workout regime. I had a pretty solid fitness routine going the last two, three years, but then…

Anyway, I’m determined to get back on track. I started by eating (super) healthy. As for working out, for the naturally lazy (which I am) that’s a bit more of a hurdle. The very first thing I did was get one of those pedometers/health bands. Take your pick of all the brands out there, but I like them for accountability. I’m logging everything – sleep, steps, what I eat (like the snack bags of potato chips between celery sticks).

My goal is build muscle to burn fat. I found Greatist’s Workout of the Day – a new, varied one five days a week. The bodyweight-based workouts don’t take more than 20 minutes, and are influenced by Cross-Fit and tabata. I’m not strong enough to do everything (like handstand push-ups, my gawd), so I modify the movement with something from my pilates background.

This is just the start of my new fitness routine. So far, so good.
